Class C2 Girls State Basketball Preview

It’s ladies up first in Nebraska when it comes to putting on the show that decides which basketball programs take home the state championship hardware. While many of the same programs are back in the hunt, there are no guarantees when it comes to March Madness.
Here at Heartland Prep Basketball Scoop, we’ve taken some time to crunch numbers and pick the field ahead of this weekend’s State Basketball Tournament. Then, we gathered data from MaxPreps and elsewhere to make a list of the state tournament’s top players.
Should the seedings hold up through the Class C2 quarterfinals Thursday, Johnson-Brock and Elkhorn Valley would face each other in the semifinals. The victor would carry the classifications longest winning streak into the championship match.
MaxPreps’ fifth-ranked Eagles have won 25 straight games going into their quarterfinal battle with No. 4 Guardian Angels Central Catholic while the third-ranked Falcons put their 26-game winning streak on the line against No. 7 Cross County’s 12-game winning streak in another quarterfinal.
In other Class C2 quarterfinal action top-ranked Crofton and No. 6 Yutan battle to move on to the semifinals and second-ranked Oakland-Craig takes on No. 10 Homer.
